Long, boring rambly bit: Originally, I had this idealistic ending where Jona proved to the council of people who decide things that the solemnless COULD be connected to a solemn and they would HAVE to change things because all arguments that women without husband/children weren’t enough of a person to count were void.

At some point, I realized that was bull. It’s comic superhero logic. The system wouldn’t change based on anyone like Jona’s word, certainly not if it made women less likely to cooperate with the current system. All Jona could do was work within it to subvert it, one spirit at a time.
